HEY SCOTT! I have an Idea for you!

So here I am on the ol laptop watching dirty jobs and was thinking to myself, I bet Ol Scottwax or some other pro-detailer could do a bit on Dirty Jobs, I myself would love to BUT I don't own my own company... yet. I'm sure someone has come across some car they have worked on and the inside was just nasty, heck the whole car. I remember when I was a young chap working at the local car care center and had the privileges cleaning the "tunnels" pits and the self Wash's pits, and then there was the 2000 ford expedition that someone in the middle seat decided to puke the nights festivities all over the front/ center console, that day sucked. Anyways it would be a win win scenario in my books.

I don't intentionally do "nasty" cars nor would I want to be known for that. :nervous2:

If someone calls about a particularly nasty problem, I tell them I am booked 3-4 weeks in advance and they end up calling someone else to deal with it. ;)

One time I got called out to look at a PT Cruiser that had been repossessed and was at a repair shop. The owner of the shop called and said he had a car that needed a lot of interior work and said I ought to look at it first before I commit to doing it. He said none of his mechanics would get in the car (it needed some mechanical work too) until it was cleaned. Turns out a couple of crack heads and their infant child had been living in the PT Cruiser for a month or so. They got busted and the bank repo'ed the car. I gave a pretty ridiculously high quote, the bank opted to send the car through as is.

What might work for the show is those who restore cars after someone is killed (or commits suicide) in them. Sort of like Vincent and Jules but going beyond covering stuff up with blankets.

What, polish splatter and dust everywhere? :grinno: Sorry, I don't really see detailing as Dirty Jobs material. Though to be honest, I suppose some of the other jobs he's done weren't exactly dirty either. Like cranberry jam making.
