Hello everybody, I just joined my name is Ted. I got a 05 TSX and a 1990 Corolla and would like some input on what I am using to detail. I am kind of new to detailing, but seeing some of the work here blew my mind. I got quite a few things, Please tell me if there is anything I should change/add.



-3 Microfiber towels

-Meguiars NXT Carnauba wax

-Meguiars Gold Class Wax

-Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo and Condition soap

-Meguiars Scratch X

-Meguiars Leather Wipes

-The Glosser Wipes

-The Absorber

-Chenille Towel

-Mr. Clean Autodry (rarely use)

-Sponge ;X... I know I gotta replace that.

-Mother's Claybar and Quick Detailer

-Wet n Shine tire spray

more than enough to keep the car loking great. Now it is time to play with other products to get even better results. Look into Poor Boys or Detailers Pride...
 
That Corolla looks terrific for its age. The wheels do wonders for the overall look.



Replace the sponge with a sheepskin mitt, and replace the Absorber with a waffle-weave microfiber drying towel. You can get both at http://www.exceldetail.com

Thanks for the comments. Ordered the WW towel and sheepskin mitt (heavy) today. I have... really bad overspray on the hood of my Corolla I tried to clay bar it out, but it didn't work that much. Is there any non Random Orbiter way to get it out? (I'll post pics asap) I also have this scratch on my TSX any advice would be great.

You could try polishing the overspray by hand with something like Meg's #80 or #83. As always when polishing by hand, be sure the work the polish until it turns clear (breaks down).



That's quite a scratch you've got on the TSX. Unfortunately I think it's there to stay. Touchup paint or respraying the bumper is the only fix for something that severe.
