Here's what I did on my 1 car garage (for cheap)

wifehatescar

My L5-S1 is killing me!
Just to give others some ideas, here's a pic or two of my 1 car garage. It was just bare drywall when I started. I probably only spent $500 on everything but it's so much nicer now.

air reel (air compressor in the brown wood box, orange line run to the reel)

electric reel

white paint

shelving

screen door

baseboard molding

2 extra outlets for (4) T8 4000k halogens angled down from the corners of the top of the wall (really good lights!)

1 new 20A outlet for the air compressor

Anyway, I like it, just thought I'd share. It's not much but it's functional and cheap.:xyxthumbs

"Not much" ???

I'd say that is a pretty sweet setup! Nice work--well lit and it looks like you have plenty of room to play around the car (judging from the tire marks). :xyxthumbs

Very nice, clean look.

Judging from the look of your concrete slab, I guess your house is a fairly new construction?

Also, don't you hate how builders are now "squeezing" down costs by making the garages smaller on newer homes? Assuming that you have a standard 9 ft door, it looks like your garage is about 12 ft wide. It's really a shame since unheated, rough finished garage space is really inexpensive to build.

Thanks for the compliments. The condo is about 2 years old.

The inside is roughly 11'6" x 22'

It's not huge, that's mainly why I wanted it to be so neat and organized to maximize the space I do have. I can actually detail in there now :)

Unfortunatly the sound system is an old clock radio :D

In a condo, a loud system could never be turned up past a whisper before someone complains.

That's all you need. :xyxthumbs News, Sports and some Pop and Country for me music. Car time is also quiet / peaceful time. :D

WOW..that looks very very sharp. I need to do something like that with my one car garage....Only problem is that I have too much crap. :(

I really like what you did with the air line! I got an air hose reel for Christmas (manual wind) and haven't been able to make up my mind where to put it yet.

Of course, as with many folks, at the moment there is no car in the garage, it's full of junk! I have to rearrange soon!

Sweet!!, I knew I could do something with my 1 car garage, I have inspiration now:up

Question: where did you get the flourescent lights (sp?)? I think they are great for the space "we" have. Also, are they hard wired or there plugged in to the outlets you have in the ceiling?

Thanks

You can find them all over at Home Depot etc. I got the "fancy" $20 ones from Sears because they were the ONLY ONES I found that DO NOT HUM AT ALL. Get the ones with T8 bulbs, 4000k.

I added 2 recepticle in the ceiling running off the old single bulb switch. I have the 4 flourescent ballasts plugged into the 2 recepticles.
