What kind of shoes do you wear while detailing? In the summer, I wear flip flops and in the winter or colder days in general, I wear Superbirki clogs( all rubber, they were actually what I wore when I was a chef and have just adapted them) the reason I ask is because all though the clogs are great because you can get them wet for the most part, they are comfy and I can slip them on and off if needed, but I wear a 14 and they do leave scuff marks if they brush up against door panels and what not, easilly cleaned off but just curious to if some one has a good suggestion

I use these nearly year round.

White's Boots, Hunting Boots, Fly Fishing Equipment, Outdoor Clothing - White's Outdoor

Fantastic support, water resistance. Excellent toe protection. (i am kneeling constantly I wear through toe caps in 1-2 months) The sole flange protects the toe from touching the ground when i am kneeling.

I am thinking of buying 2 sets of these in the future.

South 40 Bird Shooter - Hunting Boots, Upland Boots, Outdoor Gear, Custom Made Boots, Hunt Boot, Hunters Boot, Hiking Boot, Tracking Boots

I buy premium boots. I learned long ago that a good set of boots sets you day up right. I usually buy my boots with the least aggressive sole as not to track when i am moving cars.

both the wc russell and whites are hand made to your feet. meaning you have some one properly measure your feet in about 9 places.

Asics Gel 1110s- love them winter summer w/e. As my running sneakers(Another pair of 1110s and a pair of Nimbus 9s) get worn more, they will be demoted to detailing kicks and so on and so on...

I wore hand made White boots for years as a heavy equipment operator. Very good boot. The uppers last longer than the soles. Heels wear out rather fast as well. I hated sending them back to Spokane, Washington to get them repaired.

Now a days I wear Romeo's. Nice comfortable slip on shoe with a vibram sole.

I hear you. That is why i need to order another pair soon. Birthday is coming up in feb so probably then. As for a day in day out detailing boot they fit the bill perfectly.

I have only a pair of Nikes for working out, otherwise nice flips flops, and couple different dress shoes for my business and when going out....though I've been known to wear flip flops to my office if I'm not meeting anybody.

I just wear an older pair of athletic shoes. As I get new pairs, the older ones get relegated for detailing, the detailing ones become lawn mowing/yard work shoes, etc.

Red Wing boots for me. They say water proof, and they mean it. I stepped in the wash bucket once, and not a drop made it to my foot.

These have been my primary footgear for car washing for a couple of years, and I can't recommend them highly enough. You'll find me wearing these whether it's barely above freezing or a hot midsummer day. They're easy to put on and take off and comfortable to wear but stay on securely. And I don't just wear them when I'm goning washing a car. I'll put them on if I'm going to mow the lawn before the dew has evaporated, if I'm going to shovel the driveway after a couple of inches of snow has fallen, if I'm just going to go out to the mailbox, if I'm going to take a walk around the block ... the list goes on and on.

They were a Christmas present a couple of years ago, and of all the presents I've ever gotten, I can't think of one I've used more. (No, I don't have a financial interest in the company!)

Since I work out of my garage and have a temperate climate year round I'm a barefoot nature boy!

In the summer i wash in either my old new balances or in flip flops or i go with my old nasty smelling sperry topsiders. IN the winter i DREAD washing cars and ussually go with my new balances and then change right after washing.

I wear rubber-bottom Bean boots whenever there's water involved. I can't imagine wearing something that isn't waterproof when washing. Old athletic shoes are fine for polishing/etc. though and I wear something *clean* with gentle soles when I'm doing interiors (heh heh, my Jag mechanic wears a special pair of houseslippers whenever he's in cars like my XJS).

Tooooooo funny....LOL

I was doing a search and you can find anything from Home inmprovement to What not to wear on this site...
