Here is what Toyota is facing

What ever happend to "intake, compression, power and exhaust"?
I remember when the most complex thing on a car was if you wanted to add electronic ignition.........

Where, exactly, in that article does it single out Toyota specifically in regards to their current issue? Maybe I don't have my bias glasses on, but I must have missed it....

Seems like from what I gathered from the article this could (and probably) does affect every car maker, not just Toyota.

You need to look at the Title yes any car could have this problem but it is Toyota that is having it.

They are having a problem that no manufacture wants BRAKES AND THROTTLE

This article points out how many software problems a modern car can have and Yoda has more than one going on all at once.

Fix will not be as easy as most would think.

Personally I think this little shim is not going to fix but a few that had sticking throttle it will not cure the uncontrolled acceleration.

I'm no engineer so I maybe wrong time will tell check back in a year.

You may find this interesting JP my grandson works for toyota and a high up official from toyota spoke to the employees at the Lexington plant and said that what caused this was in the last few years they were focused on being #1 in USA sales.
They were not checking stuff just buying and building as fast as they could.
Their focus was on Quantity not quality.

I believe in the future Toyota will build a better car than what they have in the last 5 years they have learned an expensive lesson.

THIS CAR RUNS ON CODE
The Toyota recall may be a harbinger of things to come in the auto industry, where vehicle electronics are getting more and more complex.

Looks like its an article about a possible issue in the industry as a whole, not Toyota specifically. Again, maybe I need my Toyota-hater glasses on...

Regarding being #1 in US sales - there was apparently some reason they outsold all the other manufacturers. People didn't just randomly buy a Toyota over anything else.

I guess I just don't get the continued angered attitude towards Toyota. They issued a recall, issued a fix (approved/agreed with by our government (majority owner of GM, right?), and are undertaking steps to get it corrected. My opinion is that they'll get their issues fixed, continue to build vehicles, and probably outlast and outsell GM and Chrysler.

Instead of constantly refer to my post as bashing you should stop drinking so much Toyota Kool Aide then you just may see how much different this is than the typical TSB
I was just pointing out with this post how complicated this issue is but you are so defensive of Toyota all you can say is I'm picking on your poor Toyota.

Wow... Didn't mean to get your drawers in a wad...

I'm trying not to be a Toyota fanboy, but geez... All you've posted about for a week straight is how horrible of a company and car they are. That's simply just not the case. You are apparently very anti-Toyota, and that's okay. Just don't get all bent out of shape when someone happens to disagree.
