Help with wheel dolly

This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you get your car on to wheel dollies? Someone I know wants to put a couple of cars on those wheels dollies (one on each wheel obviously) so he can move them around.

Do you jack up the front, slide 2 under and then jack up the rear and put the other 2 under?

Also, do any of you have some recommendations?

I was looking at something like this:

Or, something like this already has a jack built into it. I'd get 4:

Seth..The first ones shold work fine...when you put on the rear set..chock them when you put on the front set...or it can roll on you when you raise the front..or vice versa...

Thanks Al!

This is for a 65 year old doctor that I think may benefit from the second option since he wouldn't have to jack up either end when installing them.

I have the industrial-strengh version of #2.

Moving a car like, oh, a '85 XJS ;) isn't exactly a piece of cake when it's on the dollies, at last if your floor's not perfectly flat. Moving the RX-7 is a lot easier...

Having a flat *and SMOOTH* floor makes a big difference. You're not gonna go over any bumps, so unless the floor is pretty good, just forget it.

Leaving the whole "move it? it's still a very heavy object" thing aside (and I can give tips on how to move cars on the dollies, tips that involve hammers and/or steel toed work boots), IMO the second one is probably the way to go. So many people are kinda  about jacking cars up and you don't want an "oops". The self-jacking nature is a simple concept to put into action.

But it takes a bit of muscle just to pump the lever to work those dollies. Not really tough IMO, but again, I'm not in my 60s. I like mine, use 'em to shove the [insert currently neglected car here] into the far corner of my shop where I can admire it as an interesting mechanical device instead of pretending it's actually transportation ;)

I have #1. I got it a lot cheaper from JC Whitney. I works just fine. #2 is nice, but I only use them a couple of times per year so it was not worth the money. Be aware that #2 is per dolly not per set.

I would like to see what these #2 dollies are? I can see the link. I have a car I would like to put on dollies so I can shove it into the rear corner of my new garage.

LightngSVT- Dunno how long this link will work either, but Griot's calls them Movable Car Jacks . The PN is 77730 or 77731 for the heavy duty ones.

I use them for exactly what you're considering and I can get cars into the far corner of my shop where it's such a tight fit that people  about how I did it.

But as I posted earlier, it takes a little effort and experience helps. The first few times I used them I was pretty disappointed but I'm glad I stuck with it as I really like having them now.
