Help with UDM Purchase

I'm looking at getting a UDM or PC comparable to save my arms/shoulders when waxing or polishing our cars, a light silver Mazda 3 and dark green VW Passat. Both cars have decent finishes with just a few light swirl marks on the Passat. I've been using ONR to wash the cars and Duragloss 101, 105 and AW to wax/protect.

I don't think I need to do any serious correction on the cars yet, just polishing, etc. What size and color of pad(s) should I get. Will I need a different pad for the VW since it has a harder paint than the Mazda?

Thanks for the help!

Get some 5.5" pads in orange, white and blue. You may also want some 4" pads for heavier correction. Of course you will need 2 backing plates.

If you're looking for just polishing/spreading wax and not looking to correct, then the 6.5 would better, since you're not correcting and they would cover a larger area (the smaller areas, you can do by hand).

Now if you're looking to correct those swirls, do as Legacy99 advised.

There is a new PC, and I presume that means shortly there will be a new UDM. No real reviews yet on the new PC but it would seem that would be the better bet than the old style (UDM).

I took a look at the cars last night and I don't think I will need to do any correction on either of them, just wax/lsp. If that's the case it sounds like 6.5 inch pads are the way to go. What color pads should I get and can I continue to use the Duragloss 101/105 combo with the PC or is some other combination suggested, especially if I want to polish?
