Do you guys use your PC's to polish chrome rims? I've get a set of 22 inch chrome rims that have some rust looking spots on them. I tried using 1Z chrome polish by hand, but it didn't touch the marks. What do other people do?

Thanks

could you please post some pics of the rims so we can tell

you what the problem is

did you try the stuff from all the other threads you made about these rims? ...clay, ect

Are they actually rust spots where the chrome is missing?

Perhaps the rust is from somewhere else like the wheel hub?

Chrome is pretty tough stuff.

I use the mothers powerball to polish my chrome rims.

some one said to try oxalic acid (wood bleach), never heard of it. but it apparently is bug with the bicycle repair people. i'll try and get some pics. any one have any experience with it?

I'll try to take some pics. I did try the other things people have posted big Jim. The clay and applying the 1Z polish by hand didn't do anything to these spots.

thanks for the info it helps to know what people have and have not tried

looking foward to pic so that we can help you better

I've tried posting pics a few times but it won't let me. I've got the sizing right so I'm not sure why it's not working.

Your first step should be to use an acid based cleaner. Then try clay, then steal wool and a metal polish. If these 3 steps don't work its time to get a new set of rims.
