HELP wheel polishing

Hello,



Just found this site. I need help with my wheels!!!

I have polished aluminum wheels, problem is they are not cleared or coated in any way!!!! Here is my dilema, I really neglected them this winter I did not hose them off once:o Now that the winter is almost finished up here in Canada, I need to take care of this. I have started my spare(not perfect) sanding with 800grit and then 1000 then with the powerball. now these do not have to come out perfect as they are on my Jeep that see's the ocassional off road adventure, but I would like them to be pretty good. This is taking forever. Does anyone have a simpler solution or is my best solution to paint the rims black.

You might look into getting them soda blasted. I'm not sure how it would end up and they would definetly need a complete polish after but its alot less harsh than sand blasting and its way faster than sanding them out. Soda blasting is an abrasive but its so gentle it won't even penatrate an aluminum pop can

If those were my wheels, I'd wet-sand them and polish.



That's a lot of work, but you could probably bring them back with quite a bit of elbow grease.



If you choose to paint, you might want to consider powder coating. It's not that expensive and it covers up a world of sins... and IT'S TOUGH AS NAILS!!!
