Help w/BMW vinyl seat stained by leather coat

Can I get some recommendations on how to remove a stain from beige 3 series BMW vinyl seats that was caused by a leather coat?

My brother recently treated his leather coat with a waterproofer. A few days later sat in his 2007 3 series and when he got out, the vinyl seats were stained with the color of the jacket. Any ideas on how to remove the stain?

As with most cleaning products, a test in an inconspicuous area first would probablybe a good idea.
I think I remember reading that the Magic Eraser is somewhat abrasive.

I would caution you using that on the seat...those are quite strong and can lift the color of the seat.....I would have to guess that what you have on the vinyl is on the surface...I would start with some APC mixed with water 10/1...spray on a towel and wipe the area...if that doesn't clean it then...I would look at Stoners Xient its a citrus based cleaner...its the one that I would try

You could also look at Woolite and water mixed 10/1 with water as another solution

I have had similar issues and I haven't found a solution. The dye has been transfered to the seat. If that's the case, then redying the seat would be the only option I'm aware of.

I didn't know that vinyl could be dyed that way....leatherique is one product that will draw out the leather coat dye from the vinyl...that's what George says with the online forum that I post at of his....I didn't suggest that because I thought that it was surface related

I shouldn't pretend to be an expert on the subject as I have never researched it well enough to know for sure whether dye can be transfered like that.

All I know is I haven't found anything that will remove the dye that I have run into. I have tried the ink sticks that remove ink from leather and that didn't work. From that point on I considered it a transfer that could not be fixed.

Zep has BigOrangeE, but everything else I get is local.

That's what Xenit is a citrus based cleaner....I agree with you on them as well...a lot of the products that I sell now are citrus based and cut real well.....I call it the natural acid!:bigups

hairspray is always a good alternative. ..it will remove ink from leather and other surfaces, so I would think it would do the trick on vinyl but as Charles said, try it on a small spot first
