HELP - Roofing Tar on Zaino

100 feet away from the building and still small blotches of roofing tar all over the car.



This stuff seems to differ from roadtar as it is still quite oily. Any suggestions on a removal and recoating process?

Wash it with dawn and if that doesn't do it, then try some turtle wax bug and tar remover, if that doesn't work, try claybaring it.

I would go straight to the tar remover. IMO do it ASAP before the stuff dries/hardens.

It should be washed first as to remove any dirt as to not rub it in while trying to remove the tar.

Try Four Star Citrus Cleaner. It dissolves tar very nicely.

Yeah, ok. As the OP noted, that oily roofing "tar" is a saturant for BUR felts, so it's a bit different than what gets kicked up from the road (doesn't sound like she has the thicker stuff that would be used to bond the aggregate to the surface).
