Help me, I can't stop!

NattyBumppo

Strange name, ain't it?
Autopia has created a monster. I can't stop detailing and trying new products. Case in point;

This evening arrived home at 5:30, didn't bother to change out of my slacks and button down shirt but instead went right to it with the Meg's Extra cleaner on the interior of my wife's Taurus. I finished the front seats, carpet and mats (meanwhile it's 90+ degrees outside). With the interior complete, I thoroughly doused the engine bay with the remainder of the Extra. A little light brushing then a rinse. While I had the hose out I figured why not give the whole car a wash:nixweiss? So out came the buckets. After it was all dry, I popped the hood again and figured it was as good a time as any to try the Stoners Trim Shine in the engine compartment:up . With the underhood area now looking mahvelous, out came the QD and mf towels for a full QD job. Ah, done. BUT WAIT.....I didn't dress the tires or rubber window trim :shocked. I pulled the car out to the street for the AA Tire Foam and while that was running off the tires I used my last ounce or so of Meg's #40 on the weatherstripping and molding.

When I finally got into the house (3 hours after pulling into the driveway) the wife had already served dinner, cleaned up, had the kids bathed and in their PJs and was reading to them. I was able to coax her out to the driveway for 15 seconds to gaze at the engine compartment :rolleyes:which yielded a reaction much like the VW commercial where the guy pulls his wife away from polishing her toenails to show her the window down/door key trick.

Ya know, not having a garage is actually not all that bad since I really do have a valid reason to wash and detail more often :xyxthumbs.

BTW....the Stoners Trim Shine works great in the engine compartment. If you like glossy under the hood, this is your stuff. I think next time though it'll be Engine Coat for the satin look. Hmmm, maybe if I call and have it shipped FedEx......:wavey .
