*Help* How to get Gas out of fabric?

This weekend I was going to the lake with my friends, long story short, the gas container spilt on my backback, camera bag, and other idems. The cameria is okay, but the camera bag is a different story. I have until Wed. when I have to return it, but in the meantime. How do I get the gas out of the bag?
 
The only way I have removed gas residue is with soap. A liquid dish soap will work as will most laundry detergents. Wash the bag by hand or in a machine in cold water. Hang dry.
 
just use more that you would regularly washing it, maybe a little more



it'll wash out pretty easily, I would think, even if it took a lot of water
