Hi, guys I am a newbie here. I just brought a new black mercedes. I totally have no idea how to polish or wax. Whats the best stuff to use on my new car? espesically this german car??

There are so many products that I have no idea which one to use. It will be great if you guys can tell me and steps one by one.

Hope you guys can help me

First of all take a breath. The newer products are very easy to use and even the novice can do an equal job as a pro on a new car. If the surface is rough when you put a piece of plastic on your finger you need to clay. You need to decide if you want a paint cleanser, probably not necessary but it can add pop to your finish. Two good ones are p21s and AIO.

Sealant- Almost all modern sealants are so easy a 4 year old can use them. I prefer Zaino, but other popular ones Wolfgang, NXT, and SG. Zaino is especially durable and looks as good as anything. I am steering away from carnubas because new sealants look just as good but don't melt in hot temps.

The more important thing is how to wash. Find a good wash and use a sheepskin mitt to avoid swirls. Never use your mitt on your wheels or for that matter anything but your paint and leave it in a breathable plastic bag. For drying try a chamois or waffle weave MF, this will also help you avoid swirls. Use MF to buff off your sealant residue too. The only thing that should touch your car is the MF, Sheepskin, and a high quality applicator.

Here is some of my advice. CLICK HERE The answer to your question is not an easy one. The 'best' product is purely subjective to each person. There are as many opinions on what is best as there are members of Autopia and more. Just slow down and start doing some research. Think about what you want in your products and then look for those things. Shine, protection, depth, dust attraction, durability... those are all things to consider when looking for your products. The guides and articles posted here and other places should help you along.
