Check the how to section on autopia here. Car Detailing How To Information

Practice practice practice. Get some hoods or fenders from a junkyard and practice on them. Get a polisher, come compounds and polishes and go at it. And research what compounds and polishes do. There is tons of info out there. Just gotta search

Actually i already have a 7424xp and meguairs compund and wax and polish lol, the only reason why i havent started training is because my driveway is exposed to the sun and im pretty sure i shouldnt work in the sun right?

The majority of products out there don't play well with the sun/hot panels. The only exception I know of are poorboys world products. Their compounds/waxes/sealants etc. are all formulated for use in the sun. I have a few of their products and have used them in direct sunlight and they work very well

Go to 1car-detailing- training.com. He has training cd,s and articles and even a school if you wanted to go. Good luck and want to see some of your work

research and practice. Get a nice big black hood off a car or truck. Make sure it's clear coated. The newer the part the better. Before practicing make sure the hood is dirty swirled, spider webbed, loads of holograms and various other RIDS. If they are not on there put them on there. Wash it, clay it. Tape out a 2x2 square with 1 inch tape and get to work. Run your compound/pad test somewhere on the hood. Once you find a combo's that work and you are satisfied get to work on your square. If you can correct that 2x2 foot square to a pristine finish without going over the tape outside of the square then you have your technique down. Now do the same exact thing on the entire hood and keep working on your technique.
Make sure you count your passes with each pad and polish compound until it flashes out. That way you have a general idea how many passes you have before it flashes out. It will take time. It's not a fast process. It will take time to fully correct a trashed paint job. If it helps take notes

Check with meguiars as to who your local business manager is, I believe it is Dan yaworski.
He does advanced classes at local shops. This is an excellent class.

Ya thanks, ive looked at Mikes boot camp, im deciding on wether i want to go or not, because i also have other training facilities that are closer to where i live and have good classes. Although if anyone has any other suggestions feel free to help.

Where are you located? Autogeek's Mike Phillips teaches an amazing bootcamp that covers all areas of detailing.

I'm located in Clifton nj, and mikes boot camp is located in Florida, i mentioned that there is another training facility located 25 minutes away from my house and it's $500 for two days and even better is that only 6 people in each class which means better teaching, where as mikes detailing class is 700$ and it's a big class, and it's located in Florida by the way the detailing Facility that I'm taking about is here in the link tell me what you think. 1car-detailing- training.com.

Learning is the fun part, I've been detailing for years now but still learn new methods from guys on this forum and the sister forum.
Practice and ask a lot of questions.
