today i detailed a GTO that has been at the dragstrip alot. the rear wheel wells were CAKED in rubber, prob 1/4 inch thick on the back of the wells. what methods are people using to easily get this rubber off?
i sprayed the wheel wells down with a heavy duty APC diluted 5:1 (this stuff is recommened 10:1 for heavy things, i went even heavier). it took me about 20 minutes on each wheel well to get it clean, and then it wasnt even perfect, just about 95% of the rubber was gone. i used a regular fender brush to scrub it down, but found that my hand (rubber glove) worked better at rubbing the rubber off than the brush did.
