Help choosing hi-temp products.

Well I need to get some new supplies and thought I would give hi-temp products a try.

First I need a wheel/tire cleaner I was wondering if I should buy their tire cleaner or xtreme apc? I was thinking with the xtreme apc I could use different dilution to also use it for the engine and carpets, but will it preform just as good as the tire cleaner?

Next I need a polish comparable to ssr2.5 to remove medium to moderate swirls, so I was thinking the Medium cut leveler?

Lastly I need a final polish that won't leave any marring behind. I've used ssr1 but i could see really light marring on black paints. So far my favorite final polish has been 1z mp. Will the hi-temp light cut polish leave marring on black cars?

Any help would be awsome, Thanks

I can only respond to the Xtreme APC question as that is the only product I have. I have a 1:20 dilution that I use for interiors and the like, I also have a 1:10 that I have had pretty good succes with wheels and engine stuff, but you can mix it stronger if you need to. I like the Xtreme APC, but never tried their dedicated wheel cleaner.

Man, it's hard to say about the LC leaving the marring behind on black because it depends on the paint. I would say that in most cases it will *not* leave marring behind and IMO finishes better than SSR1 while having more "cut." I compared the two over the weekend on black paint. The polishing steps before I tried the two were HT EC @1500 RPM's, then 3M PI-III MG @1400 RPM's. I then switched to the PC and tried the two. The ssr1 would leave micromarring and while the LC would not leave micromarring it *did* reduce the gloss left by the 3M PI-III MG. I ended up using FP-II which in my limited use has no equal in this particular use.

I like to follow the FP-II with the 1Z MP(thanks accumulator ;) ), but I don't really rely on that for defect removal--more gloss enhancing. I have the consumer line MP FWIW.

Having said that, if you are doing PC only details, I doubt you'd ever *really* notice a difference between the LC and SSR1(aside from the obvious ease of use, etc). IMO the PC is not capable of polishing the paint to a high enough gloss to see the minute differences in polishes, or perhaps it's just harder to see, or maybe my eyes weren't as good. I just seem to notice all of the differences when working via rotary--the little stuff seems to *really* matter. Again, all of this also depends on the unique characteristics of the paint you are working on as well as what you have to start with.

If you ever work with the rotary, pick up a gallon of the extreme cut--AMAZING!!
