Help: Are DA polshers supposed to be super noisy

Hey guys.



I just bought a used Dewalt 443 for pretty reasonable price, but when I turned it on, I found it so be very noisy and I was worried I was hearing sounds of bad bearings. Is this just me, or is something the issue, is there a way to check.

i'm not familiar w/ the dewalt model, buy my PC is pretty noisy. at speed 5 it is possible to have a conversation with someone nearby, but speed 6 pretty much drowns out everything unless you speak loudly, etc.

Make sure you're running it actually on a surface, don't just hold it and let it spin.

I used earmuffs while using my PC to do an entire car. It's not that it's really really loud, but it's loud enough and after a while it can make your ears ring.
