Help! A unique water spot problem.

My new Camaro has crystal clear paint. Not a mark anywhere...It has been 205'd with crystal seal and glows. But something in the condo sprinkler system left water spots on my hood in a 2 sq foot area of the hood that won't go away with a simple 205 and white orbital/pad. Did not even dent it...I've got a rotary, all the pads and several diff grades of polishes. I want to go nuclear here but not do any damage.

In doing least aggressive 1st, I'm thinking orange pad/orbital and fg400.

abd if that does not get it, the flex rotary, flat foam pad and fg400.....

I done a Ford 500 a while back that had the same thing happen to it. Bumper to bumper, both sides. Apparently she had parked next to the sprinklers at work for months and hadnt cared at all. Worst water spots Ive ever seen. At the time I didnt know about Megs Water Spot Remover. I ended up doin a 2 stage correction with V34 & V36 and still didnt get them all out. Try the Megs stuff first. Ive read good reviews about it.
 
How you tried claying or using the vinegar trick (something like Duragloss water spot remover) first? Can you feel the water spots?
 
tried both clay and CLR to no avail...but I'm making headway....with Menzerna compound and an extremely tough pad from Optimum, I was able by hand to clear up a small section with a massive amt of rubbing...it;'s on a flat surface, so I think my rotary will clear it up later today..
