Hello All...new member...been buying from Autopia for a couple of years now. Trying different things that have been recommended on a number of other forums that I'm a member on (Rennlist, Renntech, Bimmerfest, etc). Mainly spending my time on my 2004 911 C4S. Seems like the paint/clear coat is very soft...as soon as I have most of the small scratches out of it, I find a bunch more. Mainly using Menzerna products on a recommendation from another Porsche owner...but always open to suggestions. Look forward to learning a lot here.

My Porsche is Lapis Blue. I'm currently using FG400 and SF4000. I also just put on Power Lock sealant for the first time. I'm using a DA that I got from Harbor Freight (I know that will probably bring on some heat from some people), but since I'm kind of new to using a machine, I didn't want to make a huge investment until I figured out what I was doing. I also bought the 3" Griots polisher, but I haven't used that one yet. All of my pads are Lake Country except my microfiber which are Optimum. I generally have been using a white or blue pad with the FG and the microfiber with the SF adn PL products. I have clearbra on my entire hood, headlights and side mirrors...so I'm currently researching how to make that look better.

Microfiber should be for cutting, foam for finishing. That's probably your dilemma.

LOL, microfiber is the cutting standard especially with da's. Even with a finishing mf on soft enough paint you will leave micro marring or da haze as it's known. Microfiber can essentially provide twice the cut of a foam due to twice the surface area.
