Hello from SoCal!

Hi everyone,
My name is Mark,, I joined here in '06, but never got around to posting a hello, so here I am!

In the Pittsburgh area in '05-'06 I ran a part-time detailing "business" (quite unofficial; no business license etc...) but quit in order to move to SoCal for a while.

This June, with any luck, I will be moving back to Pittsburgh and hope to once again do detailing part-time, but with all required permits, etc etc.

I will have many questions in the coming days and weeks, (in particular regarding environmental laws for detailing), but for now just wanted to say hello.. esp to all you Pittsburghers!!

Hey there. Sorry I missed your intro here yesterday. thanks for saying hello. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks Troy, I have a feeling I'll have lots of questions! I've been out of the business for a while and have just started to do some small jobs out here in SoCal for extra $$. Can't wait to get back into it when I get back to PA.

Welcome to DC :howdy

There is plenty of good info here and good people to give a hand with your questions.

Enjoy your stay

To all the SoCal people here, I'm in Riverside for now. As I said I hope to be getting back to Pittsburgh this summer, but who knows? I may have to stay out here a while longer. How is business for you SoCal people?

Thanks everyone for your greetings.

Just today I did my first full exterior detail since '06 on my friends '03 Eclipse, silver in color. No oxidation, but some scratches etc. I tried my hand at foam pads, (on my rotary), but found I was much more comfortable with wool pads for scratch removal. I used foam for the finish polish, then my orbital for LSP.
Car came out really nice....was good to get that rotary in my hand again and see the results.. That's what I love about detailing; you can immediately see the improvement. I'll post a pic or two soon.

Anyway...I'll have some foam pad questions soon!!
