Hi all! I've been a lurker here for awhile and finally decided it was time to join. I'm pretty anal about taking care of my cars so I guess I'll fit right in here.
My current vehicles are a 2001 Mazda Miata in Classic Red and a 2008 Infiniti EX35 in Platinum Silver. My current clean/polish/protect regimen is:
1) Clay bar (as needed)
2) Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze (applied by DA polisher)
3) Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze (applied by hand)
4) Meguiar's #26 Yellow Wax (applied by DA polisher)
In between polish/wax, I use a car duster (Oxo brand, which I prefer over the genuine California Car Duster I used for years), and Meguiar's Quick Detailer. I use a car cover on the Miata when it will be parked outside for more than a half hour or so. Following these steps, I manage to keep my cars nice and clean nearly 100% of the time.
Of course, being a sports car and being a nice deep red, I get more satisfaction from detailing the Miata. Plus, it's smaller with less acreage to cover!
In fact, I did the above 4-step on my Miata about 3 weeks ago. Here's a couple of photos I took immediately after:
Anyway, I very much look forward to more participation here on Autopia!!
