I've been checking out the site for a couple of months, and I finally joined up. I've been reading a lot here, and I realize that I have a lot to learn!
I'm not a pro detailer, but I've always tried to keep my car polished or waxed. It's a daily driver, so it does end up dirty shortly after I clean it up. I've used many over the counter products over the years. Probably the most "exotic" product I've tried was Zaino polish a few years back.
I'm certainly tempted to try some of the products I've been reading about here, and I'm thinking of getting a Porter Cable 7424 XP as well. I hate to admit to what I've been using, but I will... Lately I've been using Mother's clay bar and NuFinish. (I'm just hoping for something that will look pretty good, and last longer than a typical wax.) I'm ready to step up to something better!
I have a 1998 white VW Golf, and I'm looking to protect the finish as best I can and make it look as nice as possible too. So if you have any recommendations - I'm all ears!
I've already learned a lot here - the "how-to" section is fantastic! I look forward to learning even more.
Thanks!
Pat
