Hi. I've been reading here for a few days, and I've "got the bug". I've always taken good care of my rides, and have already learned great ideas from this site. I'm by far a novice compared to you guys.
1. How did you wind up at Autopia?
This site is always being referenced from other sites: Bob Is the Oil Buy, Neons.org, etc.
2. What do you like most about detailing?
The results!
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
I always try new OTC products (mostly from Big Lots scores
) My current favorites are 303 Protectant, and Stoner's Trim Shine.
4. What's your dream car and why?
Jeep GC SRT8 - quickest family hauler, and a bargain at ~$40K.
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?
Some OTC products work well.
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
Family, Audio, Home Repair DIY (by force).
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
Nope
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
Probably none that would be new to you.
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
Born and raised in ND. Currently reside in the 'burbs of KC.
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
'83 Plymouth Turismo 2.2 (Charger cousin). My father and brother always took good care of their vehicles.
11. What motivates you to detail?
The results/looks, & resale value
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
No -- unless I was bedridden for 6 months+.
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
I wouldn't really say "detailing", but my father (at 78) still washes, and hand waxes his 3 cars regularly.
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
Same as #2 -- the results after a nice polish/wax. Sit back, and look at the shine.
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
No -- I have too many other things to do full-time: family, home, work, etc.
Here's some pics of my daily drivers:
