Hello from Illinois/South Korea

Hello, new guy currently stationed in South Korea.

I've been on the site for the past week or so, just seeing what all I could find out. Lots of helpful material.

So far, bought a bunch of detailing stuff (a lot of Poorboy's World, and Zaino.) so when I come back I don't have to pay people to detail my cars. Unfortunately, I have three black cars (read: money pits.)

*NEW* '95 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe, 45K original miles.
'94 Supercoupe. 1 of 1925. (Only one I've been able to find in its configuration. Black on blue.)
'02 Lincoln LS V8. 62K miles.

Oh, and Merry Christmas

Welcome, I have been there many years ago. Did 5 tours in Korea. Merry Christmas and have a Happy Soju New Year.

Five tours? Nice. From what I've actually been able to see (not much since the shop I work for likes to call me in all the time. :wall ) Korea is a pretty nice play to be. Pretty much everyone here is nice, and everything.

Anyways, Happy New Years to you. (And yes, I'll have my fair share of Soju. Haha.)

Welcome to Detail City! F-i-L served in Korea during the Korean War, but I only know what he told me about the place and I'm sure his perspective was skewed differently.

That T-Bird will be quite unique.

Much appreciated! Haha, yeah. My grandfather's perspective was 'skewed' as well. To be honest, it's pretty nice. I'm kind of surprised, because I was so upset about coming here instead of going to Iraq when I received my orders.
Anyways, fixed my original post.

Also, attached is some pictures of the new '95. Supercharged, and since I'm in Korea, it has a bunch of expensive new parts to install when I get back.

Appreciate the pics. That is a really nice looking vehicle. My F-i-L had a '96 LX coupe (white over grey leather) that he dearly loved. (Same body style) He first fell in love with the "Bird" when he purchased a mid-60s model in the late 70s. He really wanted one of the newly designed (@ '02) models.

Man, that's a good-looking car! Seems I've seen it somewhere before........

Very clean looking car. I feel bad for the guy I bought it off of. The car was a steal. Haha.

Oh, and btw. You'll be glad to know that car is more taken care of by my dad (the garage it's at.) then it'll be by either of us. I swear he rubs it down with a diaper every night. He keeps joking about going to upgrade the fire and theft so he can start driving it around.

I'm glad you're going to continue to use Poorboy's products on it. It really came alive when I switched from over-the-counter stuff. I used EX sealant, Black Hole glaze, & Natty's Blue. Never got to try Red, although I know you will!

Yeah, I've already ordered all the PBW products I'm going to use. Need to get a gallon or so of the Meguairs APC for cleaning some other stuff, and pick up a PC when I get back in the states. I noticed you had mentioned not being able to try red, and when I saw what it did to the Mach 1, I went ahead and ordered both Blue and Red. Heck, maybe do a coat of both. :D

Hey, I'll bet there a few other guys here who remember when diapers were a regular tool in the detailing kit. :D
