Hello Again!! And Honda Black Paint question.

Hi friends. It's been a LONG time since I've posted. When life pulls you into the vortex, and you're spinning around not knowing which way is up, the polisher, the Menz, the exotic waxes - it all quickly fades into the background. I haven't properly detailed a car in six months.

Luckily, the vortex spat me out intact, and I have arrived in a new (smaller) house with some new (less expensive) cars.

So I have a new black Accord. Low drama, with warranty, smooth ride, low payments – all the things my last car wasn’t.

It’s in decent shape. I specifically told the dealership to not detail it. Swirls and towel marks are minor and typical. It’s medium rough with the plastic bag test. I want to decontaminate with clay and Iron-X, then polish.

I realize there’s tons of products that could be suggested to work wonders, but I want to utilize what I got insofar as pads and polish. So here’s what I got:

Pads: White, Pink, Green, and Black CCS pads, and Red Hydro-shed.
Polishes etc: Menzerna 2500, 4000. PB Professional. FK AIO. Wolfgang AIO. CG Hybrid Radiant. PB Black Hole.

Do you see a pad-polish combination there for light swirls on Honda black paint?

Congrats on the new ride and Welcome back :)

Depending on how much time you want to take I can see two approaches:

Fastest: White CCS pad + which ever AIO listed gives you the best results after a spot test
2 Step: Black CCS Pad + Menz 4000. Followed by your favorite LSP.

I've used both of the above on my own black Honda paint w/ fantastic results thanks to my Flex 3401.

If you have a GG 6': for option #2 try bumping the black CCS up to a White CCS first and see how the AIO behaves/ if you see any marring.

Good luck! Lets see before/after photos!!

Wow! Menz 4000 and a black pad is easily taking care if the defects. I have never polished with a black pad before. It's a hoot. Thanks Angus for the suggestions.
