heating water for an extractor

So i just picked up a mytee tempo and I'm looking to squeeze the most out of it that I can. Now I'm not sure if it will even fit but I had a thought about this. According to the description, it will heat water up to 180 degrees. If I just left the fill port open and dropped this thing in, do you think would it work to keep hot water flowing as I work? I'd keep a bucket next to it while I work to constantly refill it as needed, but I'm thinking this could greatly improve the effectiveness of the tempo and at a really great price point. By actually leaving it in the machine I wouldn't have to worry so much about losing the heat as opposed to heating a separate bucket and using that to fill the machine.

Hi, Shane -
This little heater looks like a good idea but remember, it alone takes something like 8.33 amps, and added to whatever the Mytee needs, you will probably need a 20amp circuit to run both..

If its UL rated and you dont get the plug wet, it just might work good.. Please be careful if the plug for it is close by - I dont ever like electricity and water getting too close to each other...

Be sure to use a good sized extension cord on that heater too.. I know they have what looks like a tiny sized cord on it, but at long lengths, I always use nothing but 12awg sized extension cords..
Good luck !

From the product description
"You can even fill the S-300 TempoTM with warm tap water for best results"

IMHO, I'd be really careful about how "warm" you make the water. The Tempo looks like it's mostly plastic, so I am worried it could melt if too hot.

Isnt it made from the same material that the larger units are made of? Maybe I should email them and ask. Even then, the melting point of most plastics is far above the boiling point of water I believe.

dunno
but i'd be worried

Adding warmer water to the tank will only speed up the start up process, but too hot of water could certainly be a concern. Another concern is wasting time adding more water to the tank. There's a point where the dirty tank will fill and you'll need to empty it.
