Headlights....

I need someone in Orange County with a buffer to help me out with a little project.

I built some headlights from a second set someone had laying around. Long and short of it, there are all kinds of scratches in the lenses. I have the intention of wet sanding the lens and then buffing it, but I do not have a buffer... or any kind of skill in that area.. :D

Been lurking the forum long enough to know to let the pros do their job. :D let me know!

awesome. What sandpaper should I be using? I've been reading everything from 600 to 1000, and no-one seems to have a definitive answer.

i would think 2000 to 3000 would be better than 600....then something like megs plastiX or a compound then a plastic protectant...not a wax on the headlights as it has adverse effects I hear

It takes several steps and the starting point varies. I can promise you this though, if you stop at 1000 grit you'll be polishing/copounding for a long time. My last sanding step is at 12000 grit. Yes, 12000!
