Headlights scratched and yellow

What is the best way to remove scratches and yellowing from plastic headlights. I would like some recommendations before I try someing I will be sorry for later.

Give the search button in the upper right corner a try using the words "headlight restoration"--you'll find some good discussions in those threads. I haven't had the opportunity to do any heavily damaged lenses, so I can't provide any 1st-hand knowledge for you.

funny this came up today, i just did one of my headlights. they werent yellowed, but they did have a hazy look. i used 1000 grit, 1500 grit, then turtle wax rubbing compound, then i used plastx. dont look brand new, but look much better.



the reasons they dont look brandnew isnt b/c of the methods. had i spent more time (i didnt have enough) they would look almost brand new

Metal polish also helps when the hazing is light.
