Not sure if its still a rule to state this but it cant hurt...

I received this product for free as part of the "FREE 3D & HD Products to 50 people! Happy Holidays!!" promotion in exchange for my unbiased review.

Now that that's out of the way, onto my test and review.

Also... please forgive me for the poor pictures. my phone isn't the greatest for pictures, plus holding the light with one hand and phone with the other I had trouble getting the camera to focus.

I was very excited to try adapt because of everything I've heard about how amazing it is as a one step. Great cut and great finish is all I kept reading. Since I usually only do single steps, I was very interested in trying it out. Luckily for me this giveaway happened and I was able to get my hands on a bottle of it to test out. After entering I was able to find my old panel from my college auto body class. Knowing what I know now compared to then, before I even saw it I knew it would be a mess because of how we sanded and polished them. I look at paint a lot different now than I did years ago in school. I thought it was awesome until I pulled it out and saw the disaster.

I thought, "PERFECT test for adapt!" But Ill admit I was a little worried that it wouldn't be enough to clean up this mess, but a good test nonetheless. I was going to put Adapt up against my favorite one step in Poorboys PP2.

I split the panel into 4 sections. The bottom 2 were to test the initial cut without too much concern for the finish. I used a megs MF cutting disc on my PC on speed 6 for 5 section passes. The pictures are below of before and after. I found that Adapt was able to provide a little more cut than the PP2 as just about all of the defects were removed as compared to PP2 which left a couple deeper defects. But the PP2 actually left a better finish than Adapt as you can see the light haze in the picture below on the side with Adapt. I suspect that I could achieve a similar result with cut/finish as PP2 if I were to use adapt with a foam cutting pad instead of a MF but my test was to see how well it could cut with the heaviest cut pad I have at the moment. With this result I would not consider using this combo with Adapt for a one step because of the light haze left behind. Maybe it will have different results on harder paint but I would test that when the time comes I guess. Either way, I was VERY impressed with Adapts ability to remove the defects and im sure following up with an AIO would provide incredible results as im sure the light haze would polish out very easily. Onto the pictures

Overall I was VERY satisfied with Adapts ability to cut as much as it did. Now the interesting part for the test for how well both products could finish with a foam polishing pad.

This is where it got interesting... I decided to test how well they would finish, I would first go over my sections with the Adapt on the MF cutting disc because I wanted to have that slight haze left behind but cut out all the defects. Upon doing so with a now primed MF cutting disc, I found that Adapt actually now did NOT leave that haze like in my initial cutting test! Well WTF?! Good bit of info, in my experience Adapt will actually finish better with a primed pad. Note taken. Either way I continued my test. Both sections gone over with adapt on a megs MF cutting disc. 5 passes each. Then one side was done with Poorboys PP2, 4 passes on speed 6, one pass on speed 5, one pass on speed 4 with a lake country green CCS pad (I know I should of used white, but they were dirty at the time :( oops). The same process was used on the adapt side with a separate green pad. I found that both products finished equally well in this test. although I would never go so aggressive for such light polishing, it was interesting to test it out to see what the product can do. Ill let the pictures speak for themselves

The pictures don't really show it very well since I had trouble getting it to focus, but the finish left behind was a little better than my first cutting test. If I weren't going for a perfect finish, I would be satisfied going straight to my LSP after this step

Overall I was very satisfied with HD Adapt. It was very easy to use and very smooth. Zero dusting and easy wipe off. I work out in the sun mostly so the real test for me will be how well it performs out in direct sunlight. It may replace PP2 as my goto one step depending on how well it plays out in the sun.
