Have you ever polished your windsheild and then....

...once you are done, you see more scratches than were there before???

I tried this on the BMW, and afterwards, I noticed some scratches that were not there before I polished. So either:

A) They were there and I just didn't see them, and I see them now because I was looking for them, or

B) I screwed something up!

I also noticed some more pits in the windsheild after this also.

So I am not sure...

I just took the PC, used some Pre-Conditioner Cleaner from valuguard, and slowly went over the windshield with a polishing pad. I didn't even remove any of the wiper scratches that were already there, but I did get some of the grime off.

So how do you guys polish your glass? And am I going crazy? (You don't have to answer that :p)

what product are u using??? I just polished my bmw windshield and came out awsome. I used zaino windsheild polish.

I use #0000 steel wool and Meguiars medium duty cleaner polish. It works awesome and leaves the glass looking brand new.:D

Ive had the same problem too. I think the polish cleans out all the junk that has been covering up the tiny scratches that were already present, making the scratches more noticable.

That's what I was thinking. I just did a treatment to my windows and noticed some scratches popping up I've never seen before.:nixweiss

The dust from the polish settles in the pits and scratches in the glass and makes them show up more than before you polished. I just take a damp cloth and try to clean it out if it bugs me too much.

Every once in a while I'll use furniture grade steel wool to clean my windows. Either spray your cleaner of choice and wipe it like you would with an MF, or your polish of choice and apply as you would normally.
