Man, I've gotten spoiled working in a shop environment! Snap-On lift, compressed air, AIR CONDITIONING when it's too hot...heat in the winter....all the goodies.
Today, I tackled a Porsche Turbo for an outside detail. Hot weather, no fan, worked on my butt in the customer's garage....you guys are Super Stars in my book!
The owner had a prior detail at a large Mercedes/Porsche dealership and they conveniently left 2 rotary burns on the paint. Nothing to do there but bypass the damage.
Started with a wash and clay. This car is pretty much driven daily and it needed both.
I got a bunch of samples of Zaino to try....First up was a test panel using Fusion dual action cleaner polish. I'm not familiar with the "Z" products, but this stuff caked up the pad on the rotary and left a bunch of caked up product on the panel. Soooooo....switched to my more familiar Meguiar's #83 and did the rest of the car in that for swirl/scratch removel.
Next up was ZAIO. Pretty nice product and left a smooth finish. Felt like Klasse AIO to me.
Final step was Z5. Very slick stuff. I don't know about the durability of this line, but my customer is going to keep me informed.
Quick shot of the finish:
You folks that do this every day in the heat and humidity....I tip my Metabo to ya~
