Has anyone tried polishing with this makita (link)

I went to lowes and this makita seemd so much easier to hold than the pc. It has adjustable dial speed. Would it be good for polishing?

I don't know if it would work or not. It only has a 2 amp motor, I don't think that would get the job done for most swirl removal, probably not enough torque or power. The motor in the PC is almost twice as strong as that Makita.



I don't think the PC is that hard to work with. Try using a rotary for a little while and the weight of the PC will seem like nothing.

That has a pretty weak motor. It may be lighter than the PC but probably doesn't have the needed power.

Its motor is more than twice the size of the PCs 7424. It isn't orbital but I'll get the job done. And after working with for a few hours you won't have to work out that day

Just noticed this. They just got this Makita in and it is lighter than the PC!
