I saw a ad in my Porsche magazine: (Link to retail detailing site removed) MPT Argos Carbon/PTFE Guardian Finish

hmmmm. from their website:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular]It will also resist small stone chips after 25 coatings.

creates such a slippery smooth surface that it will increase top end speed on race cars..

I`m out, thanks.

Yeah, even if it is All That, when the ad-copy is aimed at [a certain type of person very different from me] I simply pass.

I reads like another of those "Teflon!" type products that`ve been around since forever. As soon as I see that abbreviation I`m done. Maybe OK stuff, but...but...why? Curiosity? Ok, cool.. but I don`t see any reason to think it`s something special.

Sounds a lot like liquidglass, but a lot more expensive. The whole clear carbon, ptfe thing and building up lots of coats is just like liquidglass. If you want it I would go buy the liquidglass. if you don`t like it your not out 3/4`s of a grand.

Check this web site out: (Link to retail detailing site removed) Liquid Glass Legend from ShopMPT.com

The same MPT product under the old "Liquid Glass" name.....

Heh heh, that figures. You guys spotted that tie-in right off!

I did try Liquid Glass once (on just a sideview mirror, so it was easy enough to redo afterwards) just to placate a Big Fan of the stuff. No thanks, heh heh, maybe I needed to do a dozen or more additional applications or something..

That "apply in straight lines" is a clue IMO...shouldn`t matter *one bit* what direction you do it. Straight lines only matter when you`re causing marring, and not too much then (depending on one`s standards).
