Very neglected car that has about a 1000 little paint slivers nicked out of the hood. Never seen this before.

How do I fix something like this?

Anyone ever seen this before. Sorry, no digital picks. Will post after car is complete.

Paint chips? If so, it can be a pain to fix each individual chip. Depending on the color, many times the touch-up paint does not match. A partial re-spray is probably the best route to go.

A Paint touch up Technician can probably fix it using a "squeegee method". Will look great from 2 feet.

If the Tech mixes his own paint, it will match.

The Tech that I use would charge $40-50 - retail ~$100.

Interesting. You learn something new everyday.

I know what your talking about, I have them on my truck's hood and roof. I would think they are not fixable without a re-paint. I'll see if I can get some pictures up.

Paint Touch up Technicians make the rounds of used car dealers and auctions on a regular basis.

Many are trained by Paint Bull. Check their website, they may be able to refer you to someone in your area.

Better yet, call 800-800-5725, as their website is very sales oriented.

Good Luck!

The car isn't a Nissan by any chance is it? The reason I ask is because my sister has a black Xterra and has the same problem. You have to be really close to see it though, but other than that the paint looks fantastic and swirl free thanks to your's truly.

the "squeeqee" method only covers those dust like chip and they will fade and come back eventually because there is barely any paint in them. the squeegee method uses like colors (one toner like flat black, red, blue, etc)and not the exact match. for example, any dark color car like sonic blue will use black or a dark shade of blue toner. then they get the exact match of the car with all the metallics and pearls and fill any bigger chips manually by airbrush, brush , flowpen, etc. doesnt look all that good unless your like 3 feet away.
