Hard Paints or Soft Paints...list anyone???

Does anyone want to create a list of what vehicles have hard, medium, and soft paint/clearcoat?



Then lay down a compound, polish, glaze regiment that works best for each of the paint types. Help nubies like myself from having to buy and test every product out there on every manufacturer of car to find out what works.

The ones I'm familiar with on that list I would agree with. I'd also add a "super-soft" category which would be for a re-spray...you look at it and it swirls.

NOW...experienced detailers. What are the best compound/polish/glaze combos used on the different hardnesses to not creat swirls on soft and really get out the swirls on hard?

Where would the Hyundais fit in??? I guess they would belong in the "Soft" category right along with the Toyotas and Hondas, but would be good to hear from the pros!

I havent updated that list in awhile. I should probably add color in there too. One change is the Bentley. This is a 2006 black Continental GT, the clear is SOFT.

Ford Focus ST170 have really soft paint but not hard to get perfect
