Happy Birthday Rasky!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can search the forum like BM stated or perhaps you can go to your local auto store and try Meguiar's "Hot Rims". I use this stuff right before washing my car. I just spray it on a dry, cool rim and wait three minutes and hose it off. Does a great job and is VERY safe.

It's also very cheap compared to other tire cleaners on the market.

Just my .02 cents worth :)

A lot of people here beleive you shouldn't use any "acid" wheel cleaners on them. I for one use either KLasse or zaino on the wheels and then they wash right off with no problem. I find Klasse AIO to work great on clear coated wheels. Zaino was pretty good too.

The Meguiar's "Hot Rims" I mentioned does not contain any "acid" so it is very safe for expensive rims. My Bimmer will atest to that :)

It's the very most mild mixture they sell.

It is very effective. The silver BMW pictures I posted were cleaned with the #36 (the wheels). The stuff is also approved by BBS. It cleaned 3-4 weeks of brake dust off the wheel with ease. Then again it wasn't all dirty, the car is garaged 85% of the time.

For general wheel and tire cleaning I go for EF Hi-Intensity. The stuff is strong and effective yet safe. It can be diluted. Some use it in a 50/50 mixture. On cars I clean, the brake dust can be on there for months and this stuff punches right through it quickly and safely.

Just my 2 cents,

Jason

I found that P21S wheel cleaner took the Klasse right off (no more beading), but it didn't take the caked on brake dust off :(

Thanks for the all the info guys, I really appreciated it, my wheels are racinghart C2s, I think it comes with silver and polish. I'm currently using the eagle1 wheel cleaner with mothers chrome/polish wax (I'm not sure if u guys called it wax), are these products any good? or I should looking for something else?

Hi TITR,

as in BW's post try those links first. I once asked the same question and got a great feedback. Now I'm following the instructions that Autopians gave me and am very happy with it. I used to have severe baked brake dust on my wheels. They're all history now.

Once again thank you Forum Members for your assisstance

TITR, I would suggest you to throughly clean the wheels with the Eagle One and seal it with a synthetic sealant or Mother's wheel polish.

Then just wash it weekly with a bucket of car wash and water, and it should easily come off. Foam and watercolor brushes, soft toothbrushes, or old sponges usually work well.

The first time you may have to use Eiman Fabrik Hi Intensity, P21 wheel cleaner or other high quality wheel cleaner. After that just apply a synthetic such as Klasse, Z-2, Finish First, etc.. You can then just maintain with regular car wash. Laters.

Great stuff. Very mild, but cleans up even German brake dust real well. Approved by BBS (I always like independent approvals)

I have found that Top Of The Line's wheel cleaner (diluted 50%), and also Eagle One A-Z work better for me than EF HI (at full strength) on really caked up wheels. I know those are fighting words for some of you, but this is my experience. All of those work fine, but with the ones I like, all that is needed is a spray with the hose after soaking, and EF HI seems to require further agitation.

RH, there are a few cleaners out there that will perform better than Hi Intensity. However, there are generally tradeoffs. They are genuinely too acidic. You can smell them a mile away. And though the AZ does clean well, ask yourself why? I wouldn't want to use that product regularly on my wheels. Now Simple Green is another good example. Sure it will clean your wheels well, but ask Brad B. how he likes that product.

By the way, nothing wrong with using AZ every 2 months or so.
