Hey guys; I went out to an appointment today not sure what kind of car I'd be detailing - the client was by referral so I just had a date/time and an address. When I pulled up I saw this beat up old Nissan Pathfinder; lucky that wasn't the car I was doing. As we walked around to the garage I saw a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, and my day was made!
Condition of the car was not great for only have 6,000 km. The paint had some fairly significant swirling and a few hard water spots, as well as a lot of road tar. The paint was very, very soft, annoyingly soft. It took me quite a while to find a combo that would be remove defects and finish down without a ton of haze. In the end after trying pretty much the entire a whole slew of opt, menzerna, and blackfire polishes on the PC and rotary I ended up doing the following.
Wash, Clay
Menzerna IP/RMG orange pad @ 1400 rpm
Menzerna FPII/orange pad via PC
Souveran
I know, I was surprised FPII on an orange was the secret. I tried a ton of combos and that's the one that cleared up the IP haze and finished down perfect, :nixweiss
Second pic is after IP, but before FPII.
