When you hand wax should you go up and down (none circle)or left to right in circle. What the best way to do it ? I know don't be cheap and buy a buffer . Whats the best buffer for a rookie and wax ?

It really doesn't matter how you apply it. Just make sure you don't miss any spots.

Best wax?!?! That's a hard one, everyone likes something different. I saw in another post you have a black car so I would say some Meguiar's #26. Should be able to find in at an auto parts store and it isn't too expensive.

Get a PC (Porter Cable) they are great for waxing and such.

I never do it by hand, takes too long, use too much effort and usually goes on too thick, that's why I love the PC, it's little effort and goes on evenly and thin if you do it right.

Best wax is an impossible question. There are many great waxes and sealants out there, provided you do the proper prep work.

What are you looking for out of a wax? Good shine (prep work + carnauba wax), or good durability (prep work + sealant)?

The good shine will come from the prep work, the durability will come from the sealant itself as well as properly maintaining your car week to week.

I like the Zaino Show Car Polish line for Durability, clay your car first though, this will last you about 3-4 months with just one coat from my experiences. I know there are other good ones' out there, but this is what I like to use for myself.

Also wash with two bucket method, clean mitts and spray with a good polymer spray like Z6 or Megs' Ultimate Detailer or such polymer spray products....this will ensure your sealant lasts even longer and the shine is constantly deepened.

My 0.02 cents.
