Hand Vac OR Portable Canister Vac

I am in need of a vacuum that I can put in the trunk of my car for mobile jobs.

I am torn between purchasing

1) either a Metro Vac N Go 500 hand vac .. but not sure if I should get 110 volt wall plugin or the 12 volt car adapter plugin (or just the 110 volt and an adaplter for my cig lighter). (about $90plus the convertor if necessary)

Or I am looking at spending double or more on a

2) Metro Vac N Blow Portable Vacuum (around $220-250 depending on hp selection)

Has anyone tried the hand vacs from Metro? Im afraid they will not be near as good as just purchasing the Metro Vac N Blow Canister Vacuum-which looks like it will fit in the trunk of my challenger with the rest of my stuff

Option 2 would be nice but I would have to have access to an electrical source (im not sure how long my battery would last if i used a cigarette lighter adapter for the 110 volt canister vacuum

Haven't tried the hand vac, but I got the Vac n Blo for Christmas and I love it. It's very compact but quite powerful so it's very easy to move around and does the job very well. Before I got it I was using a big wet/dry vac and that was getting old stopping to move it around the car the entire time, the vac n blo has cut my vacuuming time down considerably as it's so easy to move around. Check out amazon.com, you can get one for around $160 on there, worth every penny IMO.

I just ordered a 12 gal shop professional grade Shop Vac with all the frills, but have to admit I am extremely impressed with the $29 Ridgid hand held I purchased while waiting on the Shop Vac.

This is the Ridgid unit I am talking about:

3 Gal Portable Wet/Dry Vac - RIDGID Professional Tools

This thing is small, powerful, and extremely effecient. I am going to use it when I'm not hauling my trailer around for smaller maintenance jobs. For $29 it is hard to beat with a lifetime warranty. :)

where did you get it at that price? cheapest place i found online is $95

i called the local places (in an effort to avoid the big box stores). going to look at a shopvac 5gal wet/dry they have for $43 but nobody had a Ridgid, lowes was recommended, so i will try them when i get home since they are across the street from me
