Hand Grinder as a buffer/polisher

I was wondering if there was a way to use a hand grinder as a buffer or polisher to renew oxidized paint. I have a 4" DeWalt that I bought at HomeDepot and it looks exactly the same as the DeWalt that they sell as a buffer. Input anyone? thanks:waxing:

Your grinder is probably about 10,000 - 11,000 rpms. Most people buff at 600-1600 rpms.

that would burn the paint before you even touched it at 10,00rpm
