Had an accident today

So I went to Advance Auto to get a new lambswool wash mitt, and as I'm leaving, a young lady backs out of a parking spot in her 2008 Kia Rio, and smacks right into my passenger side front quarter panel! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

:cry: Got her driver's license and insurance information and all that. Contacted her insurance company, and they told me to get some estimates and fax them to their office. Went to two different places tonight for some estimates, and between the replacing, repairing, painting, sanding, etc., looks like it will probably cost $2200 to fix. Since my car is only probably worth $3500 tops, if her insurance company wants to just give me a check directly, I may just get the dents fixed and live with the rest of it. It sucks royally, and I was planning to do a correction and Opti-Coat here in the near future. Just bummed out right now, especially since this would have been completely avoidable had she been paying attention when she backed out of her parking spot.

Scuffed up her bumper pretty good, but it looked like it would probably mostly come out with a good compound on a DA. Guess she just hit me in the wrong place. Sucks that my car would have the most damage, especially when I was completely not at fault. Oh well. #### happens, I suppose.
 
i would say hope they give you a check and see what a PDR guy can do, will be cheaper then a body shop for sure. sucks that it happened but look at the positive side it might be able to get repaired mostly and you will have extra cash to blow on detailing supplies!...still sucks getting hit by someones lack of common sense...
 
From the pics it doesn't look all that bad. It could have been worse. Maybe you can find another fender and have it paint matched and bolt it in. Might be cheaper than pulling the dent. The bumper trim might be harder.

Too bad some people can't pay attention and avoid the whole thing
 
That is bad news about your car, but honestly, things like this happen. As long as nobody was hurt, then life is good! :bigups
 
Gotta say, I have to give you some credit for still referring to the Kia driver as "young lady" as opposed to... well there are so many worse possibilities.

Sorry that happened! That's one of those moments that just makes you sick to your stomach.
