"Gtechniq EXO V2 Ultra Durable Hybrid Coating improves the scratch resistance of the surface it has been applied to. Swirl marks and towel marring will be greatly reduced, or with proper wash techniques, near eliminated. EXO works on almost all interior and exterior surfaces of your vehicle including gloss and matte paint finishes, wheels, glass, carpets, engine components, metals, trim, and soft tops. It is also perfect for marine applications, aviation, RV, and household use."

My question is. Has anybody used this on carpets, engine components, or trim? If so I'd really like to know how it has worked out for you. I'm especially curious about how it would work on a fabric soft top, and how it compares to raggtop protectant.

Gtechniq makes a fabric protectant as well, I1 which is designed for carpets and convertible tops. For some reason Autopia-carcare isn't selling it, but you are able to get it elsewhere if you search around.

I can't comment on engine components or trim though of EXO v2.

The original EXO was an aerosol that could be applied to most interior surfaces, however, the new EXO v2 is a liquid and there are better choices. Let me check with Gtechiq, although it might be that the copy wasn't fully revised. Either ways, thank you for asking and bringing it to our attention.

I Text Kevin for you from Gtech North America. I will say the Gtech fabric protection is INSANELY good. I have use it on my personal car and my girlfriend puts muddy dogs in it all the time. Never once since I applied 3-4 months ago have I needed anything more than a a quick wipe to clean up messes. I went as far as dumping hot coffee on it and letting it sit for a couple minutes. Soaked it up with a towel and carpets were completely dry and unaffected.

Thank you. It may be worth looking at. Have you tried it?

Thanks for the reply. I was wandering how it could be applied properly being in this liquid state. Any info you find out will be appreciated.
Have you tried the fabric protectant mentioned by zerix?

Thank you for doing that, and sharing your experience with the protectant. I will check it out. That is exactly what I need as my wife also likes to take the dogs along.

Might want to look into the "matte dash/leather" as well. It was basically fool proof on application and its holding up extremely well against everything my girl friend can throw at(which is a lot). Whole package really makes interiors a breeze, and piece of mind to not cause an argument over her thrashing my car!

Thanks everyone for posting the replies until I could answer.

If you are looking to protect your cloth, I would go with the I1 Smart Fabric over the EXO. Exo is more for rigid surfaces that are not going to move that much. While you will get some level of protection, it's not going to be the same as you would get if you used the proper product for the proper application.

As far as the engine compartment and the trim, you can certainly use it alone or stack it on top of C4 Trim Restore for plastics and rubbers. If you are talking about metal or painted pieces in the engine compartment, you can use C1 crystal lacquer or C5 Wheel Armor and stack it with EXO as well. The C5 Wheel Armor has a higher degree of heat resistance.
