Grout sponge for waxing?

What would be the difference, if any, in using this compared to a foam pad? There's been times where I use up my little foam pads, but I have grout sponges laying around. Would this hurt to use? Granet, I would cut the sponge into smaller pieces.

I hope you are not considering a grout sponge that has been used for grout cleanup - I would think no on that. Unless you're goal is to scratch up your paint. Any sand embedded in the sponge from the grout would be a very bad thing.

The grout sponges I have seen have big pores and don't seem like they would work well in spreading a wax. :dunno

III,
You can get foam application pads at alot of places (I pick them up from the $1 store) .
3 pads for a buck, I buy a few packs to keep around the house.

If you run out of pads you could try applying with your fingers as suggested by Victoria wax with their products, but I wouldn't take the chance of using a groat sponge

Don't know about using them for waxing but for applying wheel gloss they are the bomb. Holds the product evenly and spreads the same way. I've been using them for about two years now and love them. I never wash them just get a new one every few months.

do all you guys use foam pads? I use the terry cloth ones and have no issues with scratching. They are actually foam on one side terry on the other. Not trying to highjack thread...kinda same topic.

I guess I'm the minority here. Grout sponges are all I use for applying light polishes, waxes and sealants. They're a perfect size for my large hands, inexpensive, speed product application and last quite some time. To be clear, mine were purchased new and used exclusively for detailing. :bigups
