Griots New Drying towel

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Did a rinsless wash with Wolfgang. Dry with Griots new drying towel.

Towel feels VERY dense when taking out of package, lots of weight to it. Nice feel. No me being the lazy person I am, I don't wash my new towels, I just rip open the package and go to town......... That being said, as well as the fact that I just used one (1) 16x16 towel, I did have some streaking issues. Might be better Washed/dried so it fluffs more as it is compressed out of package.

Things to consider......
1. It was just out of the package, not washed.
2. Maybe it works better wet. So next time a full 2 bucket/hose wash.

Ron, FWIW when I did my PFM (large towel) review..there were MINOR streaking issues,,very minor..I attributed it to the outside temperature....I have since washed the large towel with towel kleen and air dried...when I used it afterwards on my car, my truck and that white GLK the other day...the towel seemed to perform better than before....you might be right about that thought

I have since gotten used to holding/folding the large towel for RW drying on my garage and I quite enjoy the large size - although I wanted to pick up some of these 16.16 too so I will wait till after you wash it and see your thoughts

<----- LAZY :D Had to try it NOW NOW NOW.........

I got a ton of both.

Gotta rack up my Autopia points ........ :D

lol I don't follow the slanderous debates
politics crakcs me up

get you a set of super Mario glove hands for the large towel!

Thanks for the report. It will be interesting if it behaves different after washing. I have never had a towel that IMPROVED...some just get worse.

I didn't wash mine before I used them but I was using the larger drying towels and not the 16x16, though they should work the same.

Any streaking? Or is it that I used it too much?

I think at some point any towel will start to be too damp and streak. If streak free is the goal then 2 towels would be best, one to soak up the water and the other to ensure streak free. One large towel should be able to fully dry the car, but I always fly over with a quick detailer (UWW+) when I'm done.

I just did a review on AGO for the 16X16's. I was able to dry an entire my entire Buick Lacrosse (except wheels & tires) with one 16 inch towel. And it's Black. I haven't tried every towel out there, but these are the thirstiest towels I've ever used.

Read it before I did mine actually.

Did you take it out of the package or wash it first?
