i live in minnesota, im in the process of fixing up the body of my 94 f150, it has some spots that only have the grey primer coat. if i dont get it painted before winter, how will the primer hold up? will it be ok? i just welded new metal in, and its covered with primer now, wondering if that will be a decent seal?

Post-production primer is usually (always? I dunno, been a while since I've done this stuff and products keep getting better, but IME it *is* always) sooo porous that it'll be very susceptible to (at least surface) rust. I'd put a topcoat on it even if you'll just sand it back off again when you resume the project. Seriously, you don't want to redo that rust repair, right ;)
