Green vs. White CCS

For those who have used these pads, 6.5", does the green finish down as well as the white? Does it replace the white for some? I'm looking to get some more white pads, but I stumbled across these on CMA's website and it says although the green has 20% more cut than white, it is softer. I'm guessing it can finish down just as well as white. Thanks.

I beg to differ. The green finishes pretty nice for the most part.

The green pad feels much more stiffer then the white one.

I will test the the 5,25" CSS pads from Danase today with my toptool. Green and white was my initial target. Can write down what I though later today.

I have to agree with SpoiledMan, the green does leave a shine equivalent to the white. It also does cut better.

Do keep us update, I need some 5.25" pads

Are the green CCS pads substantially different from the green LCVC pads? I thought they were the same foam. I have all the LCVC pads, but only the white and orange in the CCS - but they basically the same as the LCVCs.

Because the Green foam IS NOT as stiff as the white foam - you can really lay into the white LCVC/CCS pads and thus I use them primarily for light compounding/aggressive polishing. Their white foam is a dense, closed-cell foam that generates a lot of heat/friction and can withstand much more pressure before flatening out. The green foam is a much less dense, open-celled foam much more suitable to finishing. I prefer the Green P2s but would say the foam is very similar to the green LCVCs I have, and can say without a doubt these have less cut and finish down better than the white pads.

Hey bud. I think the green pads are a good choice for your paint. If you want, you can swing by and borrow my green LCVC pads - I really don't use it anyway (I still have about 2 dozen green P2s that I prefer)...but for PC, there won't be any practical difference. But I'll have to give you my new address, as I bought a house it PB.
