I dont reed as much as I should in the winter but in the summer i do read alot since I have more time. I normaly read non-fiction but i was convinced to read Atlas shurgged. It was my grand father fav book, my bros fav book and my fathers fav. book. I read it and fell in love.
I am honslty convinced that Atlas shrugged is the greast peice of literary work ever writen. Being a capitalist and an econmoic philosipher i am intreaged by Rynds thoughts and beliefs. I have picked upa few of her other books such as we the living but none are as good as Altus shrugged.
This gets me to the point of my thread. In AltasShrugged there is a part where John Galt gives a speach to the socalist word about capitalism (onces thw world falls apart from socalism). I had a freind who wanted to read this section but didnt have time to read the whole book.. since its LONG.
I not only found the text on-line but I also found a recording of the speach.
If you are going to listen be warned its long, however its well worth it. Please litsen closley... even if you dont agree plesae dont just turn it off but listen, think, and try to understand the reasing, undrstand the logic and perhaps lets us know what you think.
The link is
Galt Speech
please enjoy
p.s My fav quote is the very last line.. its is
I swear—by my life and my love of it—that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine
