Got some new tires/wheels...Torq-Thrust D's...

YNOT

Poorboys Rules!
Well, the big moment came last night...I got my new wheels. 15x7 and 15x8.5" Torq-Thrust D's. Went with 245/60-15's up front and 275/60-15's out back.

I really like them except for the fact that they rub like hell in the back. I cut the heck out of the tires trying to get home so tonight I'm swapping the back ones back to my old 20's until I can get the fenders rolled. So bummed. Luckily the front ones clear the control arms with no issues at all...backspacing is 3.75".

Either way, here are the pics...

And a before shot for those who hadn't seen my truck before:

I still need to get the rims cleaned up and dress the tires with some Poorboy's BnB so she looks good, but as I said, I've gotta roll the fenders first and hope that it's enough to clear the tires. Until then, It's back to the 20's on the rear to avoid the rubbage.

Huge improvement but I was never a fan of big wheels with the rubber band looking tire.
That is a nice looking truck.

That looks cool!!! When you say rolled do you mean the fender lip i call it will be turned under? Just do a mini tub on it.lol..... could you change the shocks out to give a bit of lift off the tire?

Thanks everyone!

Yep, they heat the inner fender lips up and use a machine to 'roll' them upwards to eliminate the rubbing issue. These wheels are so wide, I hope they can roll 'em enough to work. :(

It's very frustrating as I spent more for these than I planned already...now they don't fit and it's going to cost me more money to get them to work.

Hopefully this week I can get this all resolved.

Wheels look great. Some styles come and go but those are timeless and will be around for a long time. Like BB says , not a fan of the 23" + sizes and ultra low profile rubber on a large vehicle . Well worth your investment in my opinion.

As Paul S noted that is a classic wheel style, an excellent choice. :bigups As for your tire sizes, I've always favored the front and rear to be the same size unless I'm guiding a dragster down the strip. :)

good advice for a driver or cruiser ;)

Dang tmac! You got x-ray vision or something? I see a smidgen of a roof line and wee bit o' tail section. :D

I have a few different tire dressing products to offer family and friends but for my own preference I use Meg's #40. I like the matt finish over the glossy look.

That rear tire don't look all that wide can't you use a wheel with more back set and make it fit.

The wider tire on the back will improve traction and won't hurt the handling.
That truck looks 1000 percent better with those wheels and tires.
Sell the others to some kid they will buy them in a heartbeat.
