Got Keyed, touching up paint

I have a 97 Black Audi A8 with 117K Miles now. Someone keyed me and I am trying to fix.

I just finished sanding and prepping. I got some Duplicolor spray, as its pretty big, the length of the back door and beyond. I sanded down the back part, but now have to paint the top part of the drivers side rear door.

I've applied the black paint, now am waiting to dry. How long before I can apply the clear?

Any tips would be helpful. The scratch was the length of the door and fairly deep, through to primer.

Are you planning on wetsanding, compounding, and polishing afterwards?

Wait 15 mins or so before your clear. Make sure the room is dustless.

Yep, I will be wesanding, compounding and polishing afterwards.

I figure that worse case, this gets me through till spring when I will either be getting rid of the A8, or having the front reshot to take care of the road rash caused by 117K miles of highway driving, or the XXX of miles driven behind gravel trucks who seem to always be in front of me.

The reason I asked was to make sure you make the touchup bulge over the rest of the paint. Therefore, when you wetsand, you can have more of an equally smooth surface, hence, looking more like it never happened.
